Financial Crisis hit hard on Major Greek Privatizations

Hutchinson’s 425ml euros offer to assume operation of Thessaloniki’s port for 35 years was withdrawn recently. Qatar Air has also withdrawn interest for Olympic Airways acquisition. According to informed sources, both deals were cancelled due to the international financial system collapse and the domestic political and social instability.

I bet that fewer and fewer are still optimistic of finding interested investors for the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) major FTTH project of the country. Let aside the next ambitious project of the MTC’s, that of national railways restructuring… This is a tough season for MTC.
