A Surprising Moment at the 2nd FTTx Telecoms Strategies Conference

While at the 2nd FTTx Telecoms Strategies Conference, Prof. Kalogirou (Consultant of the Central Union of Municipalities and Commutes) presented a slide about the formation of regional groups of cities that aim to use the municipal MANs to bring FTTH offerings to the citizens. Many people from the audience were caught by surprise (you know this sudden whisper in the room upon this revelation).

The whisper caught me by surprise too. I have blogged about it since 5 months (read: “Municipal Fiber Excitements“) but it seems (actually it became clear) that Broadband Prime is not as known in Greece as I’d expected or hoped to be. That means that there is still a long way for improvements for the blog, and that’s nice.

On the sunny side, the readers of this blog know things long before others hear about for the first time, and that’s nice too :-)

Indeed, it was a surprise since that was like a contradictory case. On one side are the Ministry's representatives mentioning their plan and on the other side KEDKE mentioning some other, similar and parallel plans.
